I lost a little less than a half pound this week and as I like to remind myself, “A loss is a loss.”  I had a busy week and then a golf outing for one of our local fire districts on Saturday followed by a surprise staycation!  Terri and I tried something different for Christmas (yes, I realize that it is August, but 2010 has been pretty eventful).  Instead of making our gifts like we normally do we decided that a real gift, in our chaotic life, would be a date.  So, we each took turns planning a date and Terri surprised me with a date downtown at a friend’s condo.

We had a blast and it was nice to date again and not worry about diapers, naps, meal times, and all of those important things we do as parents.

I didn’t lose much this week because my workouts have been really not existent.  I have made it back to the gym and have ridden my bike a couple of times since the triathlon, but I have not been able to find a solid routine.  I have lost for the past couple of weeks, so I can’t beat myself up about that, but it is time for me to find a groove with eating, sleeping, and working out (plus all of the other things we have going in our lives).  I know that the morning workouts are the most consistent and that people tend to stick with morning workouts for more of their life, but 5:00 AM is not appealing.  I have attempted to come home and put the kids to bed and then workout, but to be honest that is not working out either.

Goal setting is pretty important and it is a skill that I need to improve.  I have a major goal that I would like to achieve and that is to lose another 50 pounds by the time our new baby is born around New Years Eve.  That would put me in the 245 range and would be about 20% body fat.  My immediate goals for this week is log my foods and watch my calories at least four days.  I will watch what I eat the entire week, but I want to actually log my meals into either Body Bugg.  My final goal is to get in four solid workouts.  I need to plan them into my calendar and have them be an appointment regardless of what else is happening in the world.  I can’t allow a busy job or any other excuse to come between me and the workouts.  I have found that the more I workout, the more I want to eat better, and the more I eat better the more efficient my body operates.  The more efficient the body the easier it is to work out and the cycle continues.  What are your goals for the week?

Water has always been my drink of choice, but lately I have desired something else.  I am going to add green tea to my beverage choices as I have read many articles about the benefit to green tea.  What are your healthy beverage choices?

Thanks for following and all of your support!
